Saint Seiya Myth Cloth Review : Kraken Isaac

Kraken Isaac is Hyoga’s childhood training partner and friend. Both of them trained under Aquarius Camus (Crystal Saint in the Anime). Isaac was well on his way to acquire the Cygnus Cloth, since he was always outdoing Hyoga. That was until one day when Hyoga decided to visit his mother’s sunken ship in the Ocean and is caught in a strong ocean current. Isaac saves Hyoga, but is bashed against a glacier (and looses an eye) and eventually sinks into the bottom of the sea. It is at that time that he is saved by the Kraken and is brought to Poseidon’s Sanctuary, where he becomes the guardian of the Arctic Pillar.

Pros

His face sculpt is very accurate; he even has the scar he received when he saved Hyoga.

Some of the armor is cool, like the shoulder pads, which can separate a bit.

The wings on the back are neat in that they can lower to form and “X” with the hands for when Isaac is preparing his signature move, the “Aurora Borealis”.

Cons

First and foremost, I don’t know if it is just an issue with my figure, but the joints that hold the feet and legs together are VERY LOOSE. It takes a while to get him to stand up, and I do not trust him to stay up for very long since he fell onto my Ikki V3 and I ended up having to search my room for some of the armor that flew of Ikki during the impact.

Second, the extras are lame. He only comes with two sets of fists and one set of hands extended. That is it.

The only kind of cool extra that comes with the figure is an additional head and neck for Hyoga , just like when Isaac pokes out Hyoga's eye.

However, it would have been nice for them to include a hand with the index finger pointing, so that you can  recreate the scene when Hyoga looses his eye. Furthermore, the extra Hyoga head does not have hair, so you need to use the hair from the V3 Hyoga. Pretty of lame, as it would have been a good way for people to fix their “Baby Head” V2 Hyoga.

Verdict

One of my least favorite Marine Generals, hands down.  I would only recommend it to those that are looking to complete the Poseidon Myth Cloth line.
