Saint Seiya Myth Cloth Review : Sea Dragon Kannon

Sea Dragon Kanon Box
Sea Dragon Kanon is the man who is a big part of the many story arcs of Saint Seiya, and a such I could write A LOT about him. But instead of boring those who already know the story and turning off those that may not want spoilers , I will keep it brief and relatively spoiler free.
Kanon is banished to the prison, Sunion, for ploting to murder the Pope and the infant Athena. While attempting to escape , he breaks a wall of the prison and discovers Poseidon's trident that was sealed away by Athena. He awakens Poseidon, and assumes the identity of Sea Dragon. He then begins using the Marine Generals and Poseidon for his own ambitions.

Saint Seiya Myth Cloth Review : Kraken Isaac

Kraken Isaac is Hyoga’s childhood training partner and friend. Both of them trained under Aquarius Camus (Crystal Saint in the Anime). Isaac was well on his way to acquire the Cygnus Cloth, since he was always outdoing Hyoga. That was until one day when Hyoga decided to visit his mother’s sunken ship in the Ocean and is caught in a strong ocean current. Isaac saves Hyoga, but is bashed against a glacier (and looses an eye) and eventually sinks into the bottom of the sea. It is at that time that he is saved by the Kraken and is brought to Poseidon’s Sanctuary, where he becomes the guardian of the Arctic Pillar.

Revoltech : Patlabor Ingram 1

In the near future, robots are being used to do industrial work such as construction. These robots are called Labors. With the increasing use of Labors, it didn’t take too long before criminals began using them for their own means. The Japanese Police force creates a division that utilizes Patalbors (Patrol Labors) to combat these new Labor crimes. The show Mobile Police Patlabor( which is directed by Mamoru Oshii, of the Ghost in the Shell fame) , tells the story of the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Special Vehicle Section 2 . They are group of misfits that often serve as the laughing stock of the police force.
Ok. Back it up!

They have two Patlabors on the force. Unit 2 is piloted by Noa Izumi, a very talented female pilot who LOVES her labor( she even named it and everything). Unit 1 is piloted by Isao Ohta,  a hot-headed , trigger-happy cop, who is ready to shoot the crap out of any bad guy.

Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers Megazord (2010)

The original Power Rangers series saw a re-release on ABC (owned by Disney) due to the fact that the  most recent Sentai show was heavily imbued with Japanese culture , and as such it was thought that it would not translate into a good American Power Rangers show. Along with the new, edited version of the show , Bandai released a new line of Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers Toys: some figures of the original Power Rangers( with some crazy attachments that were never in the show), two versions of the Dragon flute , and the Megazord. Though there were other toys slated for release, as far as I know they have not hit the store shelves.

Revoltech - Dix-Neuf

The 19th created Buster Machine in service, Dix-Neuf (French for 19) is also the oldest, said to be thousands of years old. Because of this, the biomechanical warrior has accumulated hundreds of lifetimes worth of battle experience. He can fight ably on his own, but his true power is unlocked when controlled by one of the Earth's few specially powered pilots, the Topless. Hit the jump to learn about gangster-inspired mecha!

Saint Seiya Myth Cloth Review : Chrysaor Krishna

Up for review is another one of Poseidon's Marine Generals!
 Quick Bio:
Chrysaor is the General the guards the Indian Ocean's Pillar. His name means " He who has a gold armament." In Greek Mythology, Chrysaor is actually the son of Poseidon. He was conceived when Poseidon and Medusa made love in a temple of Athena( which is why Athena turned Medusa into the creature that would turn anybody into stone with a mere look at her face). When Perseus kills Medusa, Chrysaor is born of her neck ; along with a Pegasus  who is born from her blood. I thought this could have made a cool plot twist in Saint Seiya , as this makes Chrysaor and Pegasus mythological brothers. However, Chrysaor ends up facing Shiryu. He wields an unbreakable lance , that easily slices through the bronze cloth of Shiryu.

Saint Seiya Myth Cloth Review : Scylla Io

Quick Bio:
The guardian of the South Pacific Ocean Pillar. His armor represents the monster who lived in the Straight of Messia, a treacherous path that was traversed by Odysseus in Homer's The Odyssey. Kurumada's take on the monster featured the head of a maiden and the body of six beasts: Bee, Eagle, Serpent, Vampire Bat, Wolf and Grizzly Bear. As such Io's armor comprised of the six beasts.

Getter Robo G - Getter Poseidon (Star Poseidon)

Let me start this off by saying one thing. I love all things Getter Robo. This blog is called Getter Newtype because I am the half of the review crew that is obsessed with all things Getter. I first got hooked as a young kid watching Starvengers, the Force Five translation of Getter Robo G.

                         http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XqG0UF5-qB4 Action! Excitement!

And yes, Colonel Fuhrer is basically Hitler with devil horns on his head.

Anyways, on to today's review! Today I will be taking a look at the third form of the Getter G team's super robot, the Getter Poseidon (or Star Poseidon in the U.S.). More after the jump!

Saint Seiya Myth Cloth Review : Pegasus Tenma

For our first Saint Seiya Myth Cloth Review we have Pegasus Tenma, the main character of the original Holy War.  This particular figure is from the Lost Canvas Manga/ OVA written by Shiori Teshirogi. It is a spin-off manga ,as Kurumada has pretty much taken in out of the canonical storyline when he released his own interpretation of the original Holy War in Saint Seiya Next Dimension.

Quick Bio
Tenma is an orphan , who is destined to become the bronze saint of the Pegasus constellation. His destiny is bound to that of Hades, who is reincarnated as his childhood  friend Alone , and to Athena, also his childhood friend. After becoming a bronze Saint, Tenma is caught in the middle of the war that ensues between these two gods.
